Jörg Brechtefeld
General Manager
Dr. Jörg Brechtefeld (Ph.D.) is general manager of L-3 Communications ELAC Nautik GmbH in Germany, which was acquired by L-3 Communications in March, 1998. Dr. Brechtefeld joined the German Navy from 1982-1986. Next to his career as a Commander of the German Navy, Dr. Brechtefeld graduated in German Literature and Political Science and after a Teaching Assistantship at the Pennsylvania State University he achieved his Ph.D. in Political Science in 1994. Following his employment as an Assistant Professor for Political Science at the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel, Dr. Brechtefeld filled several professional positions within the defence branch. From 2002-2004 he has been Head of Sales and Marketing and Member of the Board at T-Systems in Hamburg and Vice President International Defence for T-Systems Enterprise Services until 2008. Before joining ELAC Nautik in 2011, Dr. Brechtefeld has been Head of Naval Affairs for Diehl Defence Holding.
